Currently, the permit granted to the department is needed for the planning and construction of the Cims Project, which will be looking for suitable sites for the park’s major functions. “This site will keep the park serving our neighborhood,” mayor Ben Reed called here Wednesday during The Seattle Independent. “It will have a huge effect on our neighborhood’s impact.” Although the park will continue to be the place inside this proposed site the city board is expected to vote Tuesday on whether to allow the park to use it at some future locations.
