Partnerships Victoria The Public Sector Comparator Association describes how the community and the sector influence each other in its different political agendas. As a result, it is possible to speak to decision-makers in other democratic parties in Victoria. In 2010, the board of the Association of Public Sector Comparators organised what initially was a 12-hour session in which experts in four spheres of debate (i.e. democracy, government regulation, electoral reform, and public services) from each of the six branches of the Commonwealth Federation of Public Sector Comparators (FPCSC) sought to find common ground and examine how stakeholders have responded. The group has set out to recruit, pool, and engage citizens from different segments of the population in order to provide informed dialogue to support community development in relation to the state’s needs and opportunities. The group decided to facilitate participation in the conversation by forming the State Council of the Public Sector Comparators held in front of a statue in the Victoria council pavilion and by building a meeting in front of the statue in the public sector pavilion and the Victoria Department.

The purpose of the meeting was to gain consensus of members in the public sector and to shape the public sector strategy based on a series of meetings and round-robin sessions. It was realised that the group’s efforts would not only coincide with the state government’s objectives but set in motion the way forward in terms of the role of the public sector in developing social actions and delivering public services. 1. What constitutes publicly funded community engagement and development? The Group’s term is defined as the overall process of transforming elements of society and the public sector. As a result, the process involved is fully informed by various indicators in which those elements continue to evolve. Part of the group’s current work is focused on developing strategies and measuring the impact, both individually and collectively, of its impact on community development in Victoria. 2.
