Paula Morton Paula Morton is a lecturer and art scholar, published by the National Gallery of Scotland. Morton was born in Cleveland, Ohio in 1893. She was an art historian and history professor at the Ohio State University, and was the founding director and educator of Ohio museums. Among the artists who contribute to her research at the museum are Cather Bealth, Amy Blakely, and the J. H. Thomas Museum of Art in Cleveland and then at the Cleveland Museum of Art. It was established in 1962 as a women’s exhibition at the museum and was curated by the women’s curator. Her recent work has been co-curated by the female lead design and illustrator Debbie Phillips, the curators have curated the exhibit “Chinatown”, “Chinatown Stories” and “Chinatown”, in conjunction with a C.J. Miller Foundation exhibit. Morton’s research on the African slave trade at the time included the work of Benjamin Franklin and George Washington. She is editor of the New York Post African Studies journal, the story of the Afro-African Slave Trade and other books on African slave trade and slave culture.
