Diana Phelps Diana Phelps (4 January 1913 – 25 October 1985) was a British television and radio activist, theatre-historian, and social reformer who served as the founding faculty of the University of Birmingham College of Drama in 1907-8 and the University of Birmingham Play and Theatre Chorale in 1915-20. Her first major lecture was published as a talk in the Harvard University play Alceste in 1947-8, made a study about radical contemporaryism and the work of a professor at the institution.
