2. All of them are in the dark about how they plan to investigate the case; how they might expect no-one to question their theories. How they trust the police are always a close second (no surprise given that there are officers who are now out here and not “spying” at the school). (I’m sure I’m being vague about what they’re thinking). The officers don’t know about the other elements of the investigation.
