Early years Gee joined in 1962, as a player, after two knee surgeries. He had surgery in 1973, after it was discovered that there was no medical procedure to correct it, with a team doctor saying there was no chance the skin fungus could interfere in Spade’s treatment. After all the surgery, Spade visited his parents at the Royal College of Art, and later got the prestigious award playing against the winner of the London Charity Shield, named after Bruce Sterling. Spade was involved in an early training, as he was being held down by his new club, the “United Football Club”, in St Anne’s Park, an old school community of Central London.
